Mozscape WordPress Plugin

What is the Mozscape WordPress Plugin?

For about a year now, I’ve been working on and off on a project to make a WordPress Plugin that lets you see Mozscape API information about your posts and pages as you are editing them.

Why is this useful?

Well, for me, I think this information is useful because I can see details about a page I am editing in WordPress without actually having to leave the editor. Instead of using Open Site Explorer or another such tool to get Metrics about the page, I can just page-down and view those Metrics in the editor.

What does it look like?

My last post includes some screenshots of the Plugin being used on my site. Take a look!

Where can I get it?

You can download the Mozscape WordPress Plugin directly from in their plugins section. Here’s a link!

  1. Download
  2. Install
  3. Add your Mozscape API Credentials
  4. Review Mozscape Data for all your Posts and Pages

Let me know what you think

The primary purpose for this post is to create a page where users can comment on the plugin and provide feedback I can act on when I have time. So please, leave your comments here so I can refer to them when making updates to the plugin. Thanks! :)

Future Enhancements

Thank you so much for all of your feedback so far! Many of you have given positive reviews and would like to see more. Below is a list of features that have been requested. I intend to work in the features as my workload allows and would love to hear from others who may have other features they would like to see added to the list. Again, thanks for the feedback, it’s been awesome so far!

Feature Requests

  • Custom Home Pages aren’t always editable – can home page info be provided in the dashboard area?
  • Social metrics would be awesome
  • History – track Mozscape Metrics over time

Hi George, Your plugin sounds awesome. Is there any easy way to:
Get it to output the information on the front end?
Get it to show data for domains other than the hosting site?

Basically, my idea is to create a web directory where this information is visible for all sites in the directory.

Your advice would be very much appreciated.

      Hi Fion,

It’s not built to provide that exact functionality yet. The Mozscape API can provide that type of experience, but you may need to upgrade to a PRO account if the site is going to have a lot of traffic. More traffic means more API hits.

Is your web directory going to be built on WordPress?
