My name is George Andrews. If you don’t know me, I’m a software developer who’s madly in love with SEO and Social Software. For over 9 years now I’ve been helping local businesses with SEO, Social Media, and Internet Marketing. My latest contribution to the SEO Community is a modified version of Yoast’s WordPress SEO Plugin which includes SEOmoz Mozscape API data for your WordPress SEO needs. Social Software
George Andrews builds custom social software
For example, a local bar and grill wanted to make sure their messages reached their customers at just the right time. George wrote custom software to give them the ability to schedule their updates ahead of time. They were able to write a blog post or Facebook message on Monday and then schedule it to post on Friday night, long after they had gone home for the weekend! This tool was written in PHP sometime in 2007 and was powered by a simple cron job that ran every five minutes looking for new messages to send or post. Then came along Hootsuite, a better, richer social media management system, and this tool became history.
Another example is a tool that lets customers sign up for text or email messages for upcoming activities, such as concerts, events, and weekly specials. Businesses can send out one message and reach all of the customers on the list. This tool used Twitter to receive text messages from the business, and a cron job to poll for new tweets which were then used to send out emails or text messages to customers.

IVR Experience: VXML in an IBM WebSphere environment. Designing, programming, and implementing enhancements to existing IVR Call Flows. Development with Avaya Orchestration Designer.
